My Story

Angus was very methodical and measured in what he did. He was like an old English gentleman. But when Angus said something you always knew to stop and listen. He was very well respected throughout the community as a person of great integrity. Facey was known as a company you could trust. When he started to let Andrew and I run the business we weren’t very old – in 1975 I was 30 and Andrew was younger than me. Angus would pull us up every now and keep us in line. Andrew was a gun salesman. Dandenong was starting to boom and there were lots of subdivisions, so Andrew became the go-to man.

Brendan Rice, Director and Partner of Frank Facey Real Estate from 1972 – 1983

My Story

Dynamic is one word I would use to describe working with Andrew Facey – he does not let an opportunity go by – he cannot sit still, metaphorically. If you have great employers who can relate, explain by words and by example and train the staff that way, the employees can embrace that and follow their lead. I have never felt like that I dread going into the office day after day, thinking – when’s the weekend coming up.

Frank Barrett – accountant for Parklea and Facey since 1986

My Story

“When Andrew Facey offered me a job in 1996 he told me how his office used to be at the rear of the building and, when interviewing sales people, he would greet them at reception then have the interviewee follow him to his office. At the end of the brisk walk down the passage, if they were 2 or more steps behind him, the interview was over.”
